Tree-ripened peaches are one of my favorite fruit
Mine too. I wish I had a few of those to slice and put over some ice cream.

I hope no one swipes them all this season. That's great that you used no spray. Are the peaches fairly insect/blemish free? I kind of thought early spraying with dormant oil at least was a must for a good crop.

That's what I was told too, Sue. I'm not opposed to spray -- just cheap and lazy! I thought not spraying was the reason why the older peach tree never matured fruit -- but this one seems to be doing so well. I think we probably will get our act together next year, tho.

And they are doing well! They're the happiest peaches I've ever seen on a tree!

Unfortunately, the tree is a little too fruitful; when I came in to work this morning several of the branches were trailing the ground, and it looked like the tree was about to split down the middle. With tears in our eyes, a co-worker and I removed a bunch of peaches, then used bungee cords to pull the branches up and closer together. It killed us to do it, but the tree looks a lot happier now. I think we need to talk to somebody about how to prune it this fall.

I sampled the fruit; starting to soften up, and the flesh is colored, and there is a hint of the ripe peach smell. Soon....
