Trim a little off and start watering! They are thirsty plants and dry out pretty quick in the nursery containers.

Don't forget to give it a little water a few times this winter when you have it in the garage. If it dries out too much it will die, even if it's dormant.

They are great plants for late summer color. You should be able to get it over-winter outside in your zone. We can in Montgomery Co. in protected spots. I've seen them reach 10 or 12' around here before a week of -10 degrees knocks them back to the ground again! If you decide to plant it outside, wait till spring. That way it'll have plenty of time to spread its roots before cold weather.
