Fall and putting gardens to bed

Posted by roadtrip z6 OH (My Page) on

A few weeks ago I bought and planted a bush clover, Lespedeza thunbergii 'Edo Shibori' and was wondering if this bush needed to be cut back each year (fall/spring) or should I just leave it alone.

When I bought it, the bush was very stunning with all the wispy branches and multi-colored blossoms and once I planted it, all the blossoms dropped and the plant just looks a little "down" now. I assumed that it was just a little shocky from transplanting, but wanted to ask if there was anything I could do to make it happier.

Thanks!
Shannon

Check out this blog: http://takomagardener.typepad.com/tg/2005/09/lespedezas_time.html.

You might be able to ask the writer what she does with her Lespedeza.
