'Winter Gardening in Solar Greenhouses' Workshop

I thought folks here might be interested in attending a free workshop offered by Mike Bomford from Kentucky Sate University about "Winter Gardening in Solar Greenhouses." It will be offered Sat., Sept 24 and Sun., Sept. 25 at the Lexington Convention Center in Lexington, KY. Mike Bomford has a background in organic agriculture. 2005 BLUEGRASS ENERGY EXPO

September 24 - September 25

Lexington Convention Center

LEXINGTON, KY Â The second annual Bluegrass Energy Expo will be held Saturday, September 24, 10:00 a.m. Â 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 25, 11:00 a.m. Â 5:00 p.m., at the Lexington Convention Center. Admission to the Energy Expo is free and open to the public of all ages.

The Energy Expo is a great place to learn how to save money, boost KentuckyÂs economy, and create a cleaner, healthier, more secure future for our children.

The Energy Expo is focused on educating Kentuckians about proven energy conservation, healthy home, and renewable energy solutions. The Expo will feature more than 35 trade show exhibitors, which provide services or products related to these topics. On site there will be various Workshops, Free Home Energy Consultations and a ChildrenÂs Expo.

The Energy Expo will include major educational exhibits and activities, including:

- Workshops on topics such as High Performance Home Design, Straw Bale Construction, Solar Energy Systems, Saving Energy at Home, Peak Oil, and more!

- The Cruising Cleaner Car Show, featuring high-efficiency and alternative fuel vehicles, and workshops on converting diesel engines to burn vegetable oil!

- A full-size Habitat for Humanity model house, framed on-site

- The ChildrenÂs Expo featuring energetic and educational activities for kids

- The Renewable Energy Roadshow and various renewable energy contractors and equipment dealers

- A Straw Bale Structure illustrating straw bale construction techniques

- Free consultations with solar architects and designers;

- "Energy and Nature" Art Exhibit featuring local artists work
