Hubby & I are moving to Louisville and will be looking for a house to rent at first, hopefully somewhere near his office which will be on Fern Valley Rd. Any info you all can share about the area or nearby areas that might be good places to live will be helpful and very appreciated. Now I won't have to drive so far for the next swap!

Welcome! I'm a relative newby to Louisville(2 1/2 years.) What part of Fern valley Rd. ? By 265 or 264 and do you have school-age children? Where are you moving from?

Thanks for your reply, lbelle! I haven't checked the forum in a while since no one responded & theres been so little activity lately. Actually, we just found a place to rent for awhile till we know for sure where we want to live. The place we rented is way out east off Shelbyville Rd. Sad, but I'm not sure yet what part of Fern Valley hubby's office is on! No children. Maybe there will be a plant swap in the spring. I won't be gardening this year, but I'm digging up some plants to bring with me till I have a yard to work in again.

Wishful, welcome to Louisville. Where are you moving from? Yes, there will be a plant swap in the spring. If you have any questions about Louisville, just ask. I don't get on here often enough, but will check the thread when I do. |

Hi dreamspirit. I'm moving from Evansville. I went to the swap last spring & it was very nice even though we got lost on the way to Marcia's house and failed to consider the different time zone so I was very, very late! I think we will like Louisville.

Hi Wishful, The area where you are renting is a beautiful area. I'm in Fisherville, , about the same distance out but off Taylorsville RD. You should check out the area. It's still fairly rural, but be careful, because a lot of building is going up around here. If your plan is lots of land, look at where development will be coming. What type of home are you looking for? If you don't have kids, you don't have to worry about school districts.
