Best prices on yards/scoops of mulch?

Where can I find the best price on yards of mulch? We need a lot for fall. My husband found a place on the outer loop that charges $400 for a truckload, works out to $28 a yard. Is that the best price around?

Surely that's not the best that can be done! I've seen some of the locals around here advertise $13-$18 a scoop, which I want to say is around 3 cubic yards? Call around some more. I'm sure there are cheaper places.

In Lexington check out Con Robinson. If you can pick it up, prices are very reasonable. I have been happy with their products.

I second Con Robinson's! Look at the results from their compost and mulch in my yard!

The tomato plants are so large they don't know what to do with themselves. Many of my 'mater's cracked because of the less than frequent watering due to the extra dry summer we had. But even so.. they taste extraordinarily great!
