we want to buy quite a few daylilies and bulbs for our fall planting. (We can plant daylilies this month, right? we're still learning the difference in our previous zone 9 planting times versus oru new zone 6 planing times.)
where is the best place to get daylilies in the shelby county area? or in eastern jefferson county? and also for bulbs? I saw a bunch of bulbs at Lowe's but that doesn't seem to be the best place to get them. but maybe I'm wrong...
thanks!

RE: best place to get daylilies and bulbs in shelby county area?
I'd want to get finished planting daylilies soon. I still have some that I want to get lined out and hopefully I'll have that done by Oct. 15. I wanted to wait until it rained but it looks like if I do I'll be waiting until next spring.
As far as bulbs, the best place I've found is Van Englen. It's the wholesale part of John Scheepers. Either company sends WONDERFUL bulbs. Nice, big and reasonable prices. MUCH better than any of the mart stores and definately a better selection.

There's a Daylily farm in Middletown @ 105 Dorsey Way. I think they are open to the public only certain times of the summer, but you might be able to schedule an appt. The email is: thedaylily@insightbb.com Robin
