I'm making a garden in Cleveland, Ohio and really want to have a beech hedge,European style. The trouble is I can't find any young beech (Fagus sylvatica] that are branched to the ground...anyone know a supplier in my area?

Don't know of any in your area, but if you are interested in small plants, there are plenty of mailorder nurseries that can supply bare-root small plants. Pruning away the leaders will force side branching lower for density.

Did you have any luck with your beech hedge? I live in Columbus and would like to do the same thing. Also, I am looking for a source for large size Beech trees (Copper or Tricolor). Can you recommend anywhere? thank you

Beechwold - have you checked out Oakland Park Garden Center for beech trees?
