Hesperaloe parviflora finally blooming (picture)

After 2 years in the ground my red yuccas have finally begun to bloom. Too bad the deer had to nibble off about 1/4 of the flower stalk. Hopefully some cayenne pepper will keep them at bay.
Are red yuccas supposed to bloom in September/October? Or do they normally bloom during the early summer with the other yuccas?

I just planted one of these last fall, though I was told they were NOT hardy, but it did very well through the winter, without any burn. I'm glad to see your's bloomed... no bloom here this year...

Maybe they take a few years to bloom. I have no idea. Both of them were rather small when planted about, but have tripled in size, roughly.
I did find out that it is not uncommon for it to flower in the fall as well.
