I have some basic bird's nest spruces that got fried in full sun. I thought they would die, but I stuck them in full shade in the back yard to sink or swim several years ago. They haven't done much, but they haven't done worse. They're just doing basically nothing.

These are the green, not the blue ones. I have my gorgeous blue ones in full sun.

i planted 5 green birds nest spruce in mostly shade a year ago last spring and they are doing very well almost 18 months later. most green evergreens do well in shade.

The ones I have are also green. Never have seen blue ones before. Are they rare? So the blue ones do better in the sun than the green ones? I wonder if this is always the case.

mine are about 7 years old, and are shaded by the house, growing and doing just fine.

i meant that most green evergreens do better in the shade that blue evergreens ... i didnt mean to refer specifically to birds nest spruce for that remark
