Snow and wind and ice...OH MY!

| Good morning everyone!!! I'm sitting here eating my bowl of cereal and looking out into the great big snow plain that is my yard. That leads me to think about spring. Well, at least how I can melt some of that white stuff! I am guessing that you all have to contend with the snow and ice just like me, so I am writing to get a little advice. I have a sidewalk that runs along a flower bed (pretty normal configuration) and I need to know what I can use to melt the ice that won't negatively affect my soil. Is there such a thing?? I also have 2 big dogs that I need to consider...on the other hand, I really don't want anyone coming over and breaking a hip on the way into the house! Thanks for any advice...~kristine |
