Granny Smith Apple Trees?

Does anyone in zone 6 grow Granny Smith's? We live along the Ohio River in southeast Ohio. Will the bloom time be late enough to miss freezing?

I have a dwarf Granny Smith and a dwarf McIntosh. I had a nice little crop of apples for the first time this year - and then overnight - someone or something took them. Rats.

It's not the bloom time that's the issue-it's ripening time. Grannies ripen around Nov. 1 around here. We get crops most years, but I know that SE Ohio with all the hills and valleys tends to get earlier frosts in fall than the rest of the state.
