I am looking for some bamboo to increase my very small collection. If anyone in the metro area has any that they would like to trade for plants or just to have it removed, I would be happy to work with you.

RE: WANTED: bamboo

I have a large clump of bamboo in my backyard. i just realized it was there a couple of months ago (sheepish grin, new to me home, am new gardener and focusing on my front yard at the mo) and have gotten many good stakes for my other plants from it. If you would like to come pull some up you are welcome. e-mail me at pwaterman@ucok.edu and we can arrange it. i don't know anything about the stuff or if it is the kind you want, but hey, it's here:)

RE: WANTED: bamboo

I have some moso bamboo seeds from Wuhan, China. I tried germinating a few of them and came out with no success. I would be very generous in working with you. If any one has any nice root culms of bamboo(preferably Madake), please contact me. Email me at Michael_Hakim@cox.net

RE: WANTED: bamboo

Very fresh bamboo seeds and a huge sortiment are on www.pflanzen-exoten.
I tried Phyllostachys moso and Dendrocalamus strictus.
The first have a germination rate about 80 %, and the other about 70 %. I am very happy with my little bamboo now :-)

Have any other persons good luck with moso seeds?

Regards
Hans
