Economical seed starting; A block of Oasis (florist/aquafoam 3x4x12),
$1.25 a block at our local florist, sliced into 1 in. thick pieces or sized to fit the plants you wish to start. It cut easily with a knife.
I place my seeds 1 in. apart again, size to fit the plants
Place them in a container to suit
Keep about an 1/8 to 1/4 in. of water in the container dont let them dry out
After the seeds have reached a sufficient size, cut the block or slices into cubes; a plant in each cube. Put them cube and all into a pot or plant them out
See how this compares cost wise to what is available commercially!
