When we had kids at home to help, we raked a lot of leaves onto old bed sheets and unloaded them in the garden. Now with a vacuum on the riding mower it is a much easier job. So we pick up more and burn less. (We still have to burn some very rocky areas where there is no other way to make the area safe.) We will have plenty of mulch for the garden next summer.
