What to plant?

Hi guys!

I am new to the site, and new to gardening (please don't throw various vegetables at me -___-) and was wondering if you all had any helpful tips to share?

I have decided to do a somewhat small garden in the front of my house that would require part-sun plants. I would like a little color, but I'm not ruling out the thought of a shade garden. What do you suggest?

After a bit more digging, yes... pun intended... I found a great post by a fellow member that helps quite a bit as to what to plant.

Still, I would LOVE any helpful tips and suggestions. And it didn't hurt to say hi, at least. :)

Hi caesadan and welcome to the forum.

What kind of plants are you interested in? Trees, shrubs, flowers, ground covers, vines.....veggies, herbs, etc?

Also, now that you've been doing some digging, what kind of soil do you have, and how many hours per day will the plants be in the sun?

I suggest Swiss Chard for a part sun garden. It comes in lots of colors and it tastes good. Not many other veggies are that versatile.
