Grants & Awards for Community Gardens @ Schools

In this morning's newspaper, the Dallas Morning News has a great article about several types of grants or assistance that are primarily available for school gardening groups or community gardening groups.

I thought I'd link this article here in case any of you are involved with a community garden or a school garden.

Of particular interest to community gardens, I would think would be the "Operation Green Planet" grant which accepts applications for its free seed progran for community groups throughout the year. (I suspect this would be the easiest grant to 'win'.) It is the last group listed in the article.

If your child's school has a school garden or if your community has a community garden, please pass this info on to them. It is very hard for these groups to get funding so this article provides them with several groups to whom they can apply for assistance. These grants are NOT for individual home gardeners.
