| The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for pretty much all of the northern half of Oklahoma plus some southwestern counties as well.
I've linked the NWS Page below. You can click on any county on the map at the bottom of the page to read that county's forecast.
The watch also includes adjacent areas in other states.
Here we go again.....another wave of cold weather with more expected in another few days....and very little warm-up next week.
Please note that the advisory says today is the best day to get outside and do whatever it is you need to do before the precipitation arrives. Based on that, I suppose they think some areas will see developing precipitation ahead of the time frame included in the Winter Storm Watch.
The winter weather we're having is a classic example of the way a moderate to strong El Nino affects our part of the country.....above average precipitation and below average temperatures.
For those of us not included in the current winter storm watch, rain is a part of our forecast.
Some of us in warmer parts of southern and southeastern OK should be planting our onions and potatoes in the next week or two. At this point, planting on time seems unlikely.
