starting my Ruth Stout pepper and tomato bed

I am trying to reclaim an old chicken pen that i have garden to much with organic material. There used to be lots of earthworms now not many. hope to improve soil over the next couple years. I will be growing tomatoes and peppers and maybe squash in this mulched bed like Ruth Stout
