They are looking awesome. I wish I had a heating mat. Not that "big" of a gardener to have that kind of investment yet. I have planted but the only ones that came up so far is the chamomile, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and chives.

I think these were planted January 14. My grandmother has a greenhouse in Texas which enables me to plant hers a bit early. She'll then keep them in 1-gallon pots in the greenhouse until they're ready to go in the garden.

Ok I feel better now. I am 2 weeks behind you. How big were they when you repotted?

I pot up when they are about 4-5 inches tall. I pot right up to the cotyledons.

I normally only use a heat mat when planning pepper seeds and remove it as soon as they sprout. This year was so warm (until the last couple of days) that I didn't even use the mat and everything sprouted quickly without it. In fact, I don't even know where the heat mat is. I bet Tim put it up somewhere after last season, and I hope he remembers where he stashed it.

I'll be potting up my baby tomato seedlings this week, likely on the days it is supposed to rain or snow around Tuesday or Wednesday. I've been letting them grow outside in full sun on the pretty days we've been having, but moved them back indoors to the light shelf yesterday and doubt they'll get much time outdoors this week.

My greenhouse is full of young seedlings that will stay out there unless we're doing to drop below the mid-20s. They all should be fine because they are mostly cool-season seedlings.

I am so ready to plant something in the ground, but the weather is saying "don't you dare!" February is the cruelest month for a gardener.

I'm taking them to her on March 8th. She'll keep them in the greenhouse for 2-3 weeks to get them hardened off well and then she'll plant her 22 plants and my other grandfather (The gentleman who has the Charles Herring variety and happens to live in the same town) will go get his 18 plants.
