Golden deodar cedar needle drop

Recently planted a couple of golden deodar cedars that had suffered neglect at a local nursery. Tops were broken and had not been watered well in previous 2 weeks prior to purchase. (got a great deal and just wanted to try to save them instead of them being sent to the dump) In burlap and there no discoloration to limbs, just needle drop. One seems to be adjusting quite well, the other is having continued needle drop (the needles that are coming off are still green, if that is helpful info). only been in the ground for 2 weeks. All proper techniques utilized in panting the tree, just need reassurance these are salvagable.

Pics would help. The real answer though is that you won't know anything for about another month or 2. By June 1 you will either have new growth and know they are alive or you will have bare sticks. As a conifer grower, believe me, there just isn't much of a way to tell other than waiting.
