New Oklahoma Tomato Farming Method (humor alert)

Hello all!

Today is so windy that as I tried watering my onions I had to hold the water hose ten feet upwind from them, just so they would get wet. Very gusty. But as I was standing at a 45 degree angle watering, I had a great epiphany! A new and wondrous way to tomato farm in Oklahoma:

First you get several huge kites, with very strong cords for string. Before you launch them you tie some of those upside down tomato planters (with transplants inside) every three feet or so on the cord. I figure one should be able to get fifteen or twenty of those things aloft per kite. Again, these need to be huge kites. (Hmm, I wonder if you need a permit from the FAA for this sort of thing.) For those of you with small garden space or stuck with container gardening on a balcony, well here's your solution! Actually, balconies might be ideal... Just drop the kite off the side and let the wind catch it, and then string out your tomato crop... You'd be the envy of the apartment complex.

Forget hydroponics or rooftop gardening, the new trend of upward mobility in agriculture will be the Tomato in the Sky method.

--All kidding aside, it is really windy out there today. I'm so ready for some calm spring weather

Just kidding Its blowing 50 here.
My front door broke when I tried moving my house plants out. They are so needing light. Doors r costly.

Nope, not drunk. I don't drink. Well, technically that's not true. I do drink water and tea and grape juice and Dr. Pepper....

Not drunk or otherwise impaired. Just blessed with a plethora of unique and wonderful ideas...or not... :-/

(Now, where's that box...got to get back into the box...thinking outside of the box makes some folks jump to odd conclusions....ah, there it is...at the back of my redneck cattle panel greenhouse, behind the tomatoes ;-)

Y'all are too funny.

There's nothing funny about this wind though, and Tree and I sorry to hear your door broke. New doors are so expensive.

I don't know what kind of wind the rest of y'all had yesterday, but we were gusting to 35 mph or so and the tomato plants were begging to go back inside the greenhouse to get out of the wind. At our house, though, with a couple of notable exceptions, the March wind seems milder than usual this year. On those days where the wind was really bad this month, we weren't even home....we were out fighting large wildfires driven by the wind. That's fairly typical for March and April though.

It is windy here this morning, but I don't think it is quite as windy as yesterday.

I'm ready for April and hope its' weather is kinder to us than the March wind has been.
