I sure hope not. The sun has gone away too.

I think they call that stuff "rain"? Not sure, haven't seen such in AGES. LOL

It won't kill plants but the shock of having rain falling on their heads might wake them up and send them on a wild growth spurt. : ) My garden is a pond this morning, but I don't mind. I won't complain until it is a lake. I hope those who haven't received rain yet will get some during the next few days. One rainy week does not end a drought, but if we can see two or three rainy weeks strung together in a row, I think we'll see the end of the drought in areas that experience repeated moderate to heavy rainfall for several weeks. Much of western and central OK are still waiting for some significant rain. Dawn

| Over a half inch with more coming, a nice gentle rain since before sunup. I'm dancing in the rain and gathering rainwater to use in the greenhouse. I don't think we've had this good of a rain since early last July!

We've had 4&1/2inches in 3 days. So my garden is a pond too. My son and DIL who drove down from Ohio last Tues say they brought it with them since it rained on them all the way here and then rained after they got here.

That stuff falling from the sky is scaring me too. There is so much of it! Someone stole the sun, and someone stole the heat, liquid is dumping down, and I am so confused and scared. It never rains in Oklahoma, so whoever suggested that cannot be right. Jo

It's weird stuff alright. It showed up last night and brought some falling ice pellets with it. It wasn't there at 6:30 when the Easter Bunny showed up. Then the kids got up to look for eggs and it was falling down again. There were rumbling noises and flashing lights to go with it. Finally, the action stopped for a little while and the kids found that the liquid had washed away all of the dye they had so carefully put on the eggs last night.

Yes, I believe I'll have some more please! It was wonderful to hear the sound of thunder and of rain falling on the roof early this morning. Seems like it has been forever since the last time. Our rain gauge broke but the mesonet stations north and south of us are measuring 1.4 inches and .84 inches, and we think we're closer to the 1.4 measurement. Yesterday I got my tomato plants in, so the timing couldn't be better for the rain. And it's been for the most part a nice gentle rain, with a few downpours mixed in. Even though the kiddos had to have their Easter egg hunt indoors today, I think all of us who are over egg-hunting age were really happy to see the rain. Suzie

The last two days I've taken naps to the sound and smell and feel of the rain. That's one of my very favorite things to do! This morning I ran around putting all my houseplants out from under the porches so they would get a good soaking! Then I moved all of my future tomato tubs (18 gal) under the eaves to collect as much as I could. I'm going to clean out my 3 giant rubbermaid tubs with lids and store it in there. I have never been so excited for rain in my life!

Our backyard gauge recorded 1.53" since midnight. I got my tomatoes in yesterday as well, so I couldn't be happier. Well, ok, I might be happier if I didn't have to post this from my phone. Lightning struck the tower we get our internet from. It's a small price to pay for the rain. :)
