Just love these and how they provide a beautiful ground cover. Sometimes a little too aggressive and require cutting back several times a year around pool. In other parts of the yard i just let them grow like gang busters where I need the ground cover! One of my favorite ornamental vines and so easy to propagate from clippings too! Considering most local nurseries charge $4 and up for a 4" pot, it's worth it too spent a little effort easily propagating these guys!

This thread reminded me to check my ornamental sweet potatoes.
I would normally have them out in the light before now. I store mine in a paper bag in the floor, near an outside wall in my closet if I have room.

That's cool. Mine look just like that (except one tuber is almost perfectly round :o)

OklaMoni: I store them in kitty litter pales lined with brown paper bags and filled with shredded brown paper bags. (repurpose, recycle, reuse) I have had them get mushy on me if stored in the garage, so this year I stored inside in a closet in the laundry room. This is how I store all my tender tubers and it works great.

My ornamentals taste more like Irish potatoes, they are drier and not as sweet as regular sweet potatoes, seem to be a little more starchy also. I think they would be good in a roast, but Madge has not gotten brave enough to try them that way yet. I like to eat both kinds raw, so does our dog.
