looking at the april 16th map I bet after yesterdays rain Tulsa and the surrounding should come out of the drought all together. Sure is nice to see all that red and brown going away.

It will be interesting to see the Drought Monitor map next week that will reflect this week's rainfall. I expect we'll see more areas come out of drought.

At this time last year practically all of OK was 'white' on the Drought Monitor, indicating no drought. I think the panhandle still had drought one year ago this week but the rest of us were in decent shape. I hope that when we all finally make it back out of drought status, maybe that 'no drought' status will last a good long time.
