Some kind of eggs but that's all I know. When my kids were younger they put all kinds of eggs into a jar with small holes in the lid and waited to see what hatched. (The most memorable was the blue tail skinks. They come out of the egg with the most intense blue tails.) You could try that if you don't get a definite answer here. I'm guessing insect rather than reptile eggs.

We had something like this on a brick post holding up our patio roof. I thought they might be botfly eggs and disposed of them before our dog rubbed up against the post. Idk if they are or not but I wanted to be careful just in case.

On looking again, I'm wondering if they are cocoons of some sort of colony dwelling caterpillar. Is that webbing on them? I hope someone knows because I'm really curious.

They remind me of those parasitic wasp cocoons you see on the big hornworms, so I am wondering if they are some kind of small wasp. Hmmmm.

There are no webbings on them. And Susan is exactly right. They look like those thingies on a hornworm. Maybe slightly thinner, but not by much.......

I wonder if the catapillar is nearly gone? Sure looks like parasitic wasp eggs and a shape of a catapillar.
