Balsam in a container?

I have read that you can plant balsam in a container. More of my seeds sprouted than I thought so I figured let's spruce up a container. My pot is 8 1/2 inches across and 6 inches deep. Is that big enough to plant one balsam plant in the center. This will be the only thing in the pot.

Mel haven't had balsam in AGES. From what I remember it should be fine.

Now, I will have to go out and get me some seeds. LOL

Moni, lol, they have what's grown from seeds the best for me so far.
