| I am. I tried to nail them down on what type of squash (moschata, maxima, etc.) Nothing doing. Not letting out trade secrets. I finally got them to confirm it is not a moschata, but I am going to try to grow it anyway. |

| I'm pretty certain that's a c. maxima. They probably didn't tell you because they didn't know. George |

| I bought some after Halloween(only 1 dollar!). Boiled some and mashed with butter and salt. Yum! I'm going to try to make pumpkin bread next. Their website is, www.PinkPumpkinPatch.org. I am going to try to grow some. I'm also trying to get info. on them. |

| Thanks for the info pumpkinpuss! I always like to know people's opinion on the flavor of something that could be just ornamental. I saw a lot of yellow - kind of a light yellow color - on people's doorsteps this year. Am also wondering about whether or not these are just decorative in nature or for good eating, too. Susan |

| New England Seed had the seed for Porcelain Doll in their 2012 catalog and I imagine they'll have them in the 2013 catalog. The ones I saw in the stores both in southern OK and in the Dallas area were not very attractive. They looked like they'd had a lot of tough weather and the color was really uneven and splotchy---not nearly as attractive as the ones in the catalog. They were even less pink in person than in the catalog photos. It definitely is a pale coral to coral-pink color. Out of the dozens I saw at several different stores, only one had fairly even, solid color. I am not sure why they looked so bad, but given that we had widespread drought in the USA this year, I expect the weather was the problem. I think a home gardener would have a really good chance of getting the pretty color because pumpkins in a home garden would get more hands-on and up-close attention than acres of pumpkins in a field.
