I have an area alongside my barn where it is shady & the soil does not drain well. I need suggestions on what to plant there

Do you know if the pH of your soil is acidic, neutral or alkaline? Also, I assume since it doesn't drain well that it is clay? Is it full shade all day or part sun and then shady the rest of the day?

Do you want suggestions for trees, shrubs, groundcovers, perennial flowers or annual flowers?

Its full shade clay. Not sure ph. & we live near quartz mountain with lots of rattlesnakes. So something that won't be attractive to snakes. Id like some sort of groundcover or grass & perennial flowers
