Expect Severe Weather Again on Tues., 5-24

Okiedawn OK Zone 7

This is your "heads up" to be very weather-aware tomorrow.

After a pretty rough Sunday and Monday in terms of weather, Tuesday looks to be at least equally serious in terms of severe weather potential. Conditions in Oklahoma possibly will be worse than what we've had the last two days. The threat, of course, spills over into surrounding states.

Please pay extra-special attention to your local forecast and storm warnings on Tuesday.

I've linked the convective outlook from the Storm Prediction Center. Look at what it shows for tomorow. That's a huge 'moderate' risk area in red.

Remember that in many areas, two days of moderate to very heavy rainfall have saturated the soils so flash flooding is a distinct possibility if heavy rain falls in an area that already has heavily saturated soil.

Be careful tomorrow, y'all, and stay safe. Remember that even if you "only" have a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect, the NWS is always careful to remind us that tornadoes can form at any time without warning during a severe thunderstorm.

Melissa and Carol, Maybe y'all should start building a levee around your gardens.
