Ohp has closed some roads into the city. I-40 i believe so im not sure he is going to make that trip tonight.

Thanks! I've called him and told him. He's almost to a toll booth so he is going to see what they say.

Ok. Good luck and have him get a hotel if he can. Its just not worth the risk in the dark. Too hard to see where the flooding is.

I will be surprised if he can even get through. Last i heard around ten pm was OHP closed roads in and out of the City.

Dh is sometimes a bit hard headed. I've called him four times on the subject. He plans to keep going for now.

They must have opened the roads. I wish him much luck. Please let us know he makes it ok.

Just heard from dh. He was in the OKC area. The roads have been open. He was seeing tornado damage. Travel is slow. he said he didn't see a reason for the slow traffic. He thought it was possibly just people rubbernecking.

I would not suggest the turnpike to Tulsa in the next 2 hours. Right now the rain is extremely heavy the entire first half, with some strong winds, and I don't think he will ever get ahead of it. The turnpike could get 2 or 3 inches in the next 2 hours.

So many OKC streets are flooded that people are struggling to get where they want to go. 8 inches the entire area during the last 8 hrs.

Hope he makes it ok. The storms stopped moving north so if he got past Bristow it's smooth sailing. OKC area still getting pounded.

Dh finally made it home a little before 3 am. He said it took him an hour to get through OKC because of the rubbernecking. He drove slow up the turnpike to avoid hydroplaning.
