I've had success with all of the perennial types. They take the heat, drought and will tolerate quite a bit of dry shade and some pretty crappy soil. You name the kind, it grows good here. I just cut back the Cheddar Pink ones. They are very blue & the flowers are strongly fragrant -- I've divided it several times and spread them into all kinds of difficult spots. White, red, pink, all of them do good. I love the 'everblue' foliage even more so than the flowers.
