a new blackberry question

My berries have recently started to do something strange. Something i've never seen before but maybe one of you have. Okay, lets say that a berry is composed of a group of seed sacks or globules. In a healthy berry they are all black. On some of my berries some of the globules are a pale pink or kind of clear and most are hard. Some are soft. What causes this. Any suggestions?

    Terry,

It sounds like a physiological condition called White Drupelet. It can happen for various reasons, including skyrocketing temperatures and lots of sunlight. Sound familiar? The fruit is still fine to eat, but if you are a market grower, no one will buy your fruit when it looks like that.

I'll try to find and link a photo of some berries with White Drupelet so you can see if it looks like what you're seeing on your plants.

You're welcome, Terry. I usually see it only on a handful of fruit in any given year. I hope you aren't seeing too much of it.
