Good looking helper you have there! Since your tomatoes are tall, just dig trenches the length of all but about the last 6 inches of your plants and around 6 inches deep where the root ball will be, tapering the trench up on the top end. Remove all leaves except the ones on the top 6 inches and gently curve the stem of the tomato up at the top end when you plant it. The plant will then form roots along the stem that is buried, making it able to endure our heat better.

Thank you Mary. I try to do that and definitely will with these. They are really stocky so I may try laying them down and let them bend towards the sun on their own so I don't break them. I already had 3 fatalities this year.
It is hot here isn't it? Only noon and I am already in the house. I had a very productive morning so I feel good, just don't want to overdo it.

The other day he was very upset when he only found one sugar snap pea. He eats them as fast as I can pick them, calls them "nacks". And he calls all plants"nice"
He is not here today so I got a lot done. I don't dare try to weed when hes here because he does everything I do.
