Japanese Beetles...

are far fewer in our garden this year than the last three or four. We put up a few traps again this year, but they weren't getting into them very fast and as every year they were congregating on the rose bushes and the almond and peach tree. DH had bought some spray for termites and it said it was effective against JBs. We won't use poison sprays on food, but there isn't fruit on the peach and almond trees and the rose bushes aren't near food plants so DH mixed up a couple gallons and started spraying. Today only found a handful of live beetles and lots of dead ones, many on plants that weren't sprayed. Last year they decimated my pole beans. This year maybe I will get a crop.
