Looks like some type of wild cereal grain. Yeah, you probably know that. But I wanted to say your Bermuda looks good. It's really soft at this stage.

Is the wild cereal grass clumping? It looks like its either clumping or someone dropped a handful of barley.

It is clumping all over the place!! I hate it and want to get rid of it.
The Bermuda is very long and soft. I keep it longer because I like it soft! It was like that all summer last yr. Hope it does this summer.

I have been calling that foxtail. I am not positive it is though. I spot sprayed with a lawn weed killer and it seemed to help.

It is foxtail. Its an annual weed grass so it ought to be shallow rooted at least. Annual grasses seed like crazy. Pre-emergence in early spring or late winter works but pulling them before they drop seed would be good. Spot spray won't help with the seeds so thats a waste of time, I'd keep pulling.

I'll keep pulling and will use a Pre-emergence. Is there a preferred brand you folks use?
