Black Swallowtails

Susan (and anyone else who cares :) ) , I found a bunch of huge swallowtail caterpillars last night on my fennel. I know a mom with a couple young children and I asked her if she would like to raise them. The kids were thrilled! Most of them are probably pupating this weekend. They were really huge. I put a few younger ones in there too so they could see the difference. Hopefully they weren't parasitized. I gently warned her they might be since I gathered them so late. :(

I still haven't seen any gulf frits...I hope they show up soon.
