The NWS has issued a Heat Advisory that covers almost the entire state, and portions of adjoining states as well. It is in effect through at least Monday.

Some areas already have or later may have a higher level of warning like an Excessive Heat Warning.

Please, y'all, be careful and stay cool and hydrated. I already cancelled my plans to work in the garden this morning and decided to stay inside and cook some food in preparation for the fires we're expecting in this heat.

Some areas already have had a heat advisory or excessive heat warning for several days. Remember that the effects of excessive heat exposure are cumulative, so if you are outdoors in extreme heat day after day after day, your chances of suffering from a heat-related illness climb with increased exposure.

It sure is getting harder and harder to garden in Oklahoma in mid-July through mid-August, not that it ever was easy in the first place.
