Cantaloupe question.

This is my third or fourth time growing cantaloupes and I have noticed something that I don't remember before. The leaves have a white residue on them sort of like they have been sprayed, they have not been sprayed with anything. The plants look good except for critter damage around the edges, rabbit or dear expect. These are Hales Best cantaloupe, which I have not grown before and maybe they are supposed to look like this. ( or maybe an early sign of something I need to treat)

This is in an area of my lawn where the soil looks like this about 2 or 3 inch down.

After heavy amending of the soil the crop looks OK, but may have an excess of some minerals.

Do any of you have any suggestions of what I should do?

Thanks, Larry.
