I've linked the seasonal drought outlook below. For most of us, there is no hope of real improvement any time soon.

Here is a link that might be useful: Seasonal Drought Outlook

RE: Seasonal Drought Outlook

Has anyone noticed what's happening with a lot of the farm ponds? The water levels have naturally gone down and huge populations of waterlilies are taking over. Some of the ponds appear to be nearly completely choked by them. I'm seeing it more and more as the drought continues.

RE: Seasonal Drought Outlook

It happens here where we live every time there's a drought, but only to ponds that have the lilies. I don't mean to imply they magically appear in ponds where they've never been seen in the past (although sometimes they do). Once the farm ponds dry up completely and the soil in the pond bottom is dry, the water lilies die or go dormant. We lost the water lilies in our big pond when the spring that fed it dried up and stopped supplying it with water during a prior drought. Now that it is a seasonal pond, it doesn't stay wet enough long enough for the native water lilies to re-establish themselves.
