THE Oklahoma Grey Water Code

Out here in the country no one checks on such things, I don't think. At any rate, 35 years ago when DH and I built a new home we plumbed the house into 2 septic tanks. Toilet water into one tank, everything else into the other, with a "grease trap" situated in the line into the greywater tank. The greywater was plumbed into the septic lines along with the toilet water for those wet times. But during the summer the grey water tank could be opened through a hatch on the top, have a small electric pump installed and the water pumped out to water ornamentals, shade trees and lawn. We didn't try watering vegetables with it, but did let the water run into the mulch under an apple tree.

We no longer live there, but on a much smaller scale, I recently put a basin into the rinse sink in my kitchen and take the water out to keep my potted flowers alive. They have to be watered everyday in this weather and lugging out a bucket of water is no more trouble than dragging the hose around.

I'm thinking that we run a line from the washing machine and sink, attach a spigot and a hose - who would even know? Not a soul unless I told them. They're installing a new fire and police department right across the street and our city is a municipality likely to become angered about us stealing their water to be processed and sold back to us.
