Chandra, yes, it is common for figs to set at this time if well watered. When I saw that my fig branches did NOT freeze to the ground this year, I was hopeful for early figs, but then a very light frost set it back. Now though the figs are about the size of yours. I've had them set fruit throughout the summer but the later they set the less likely they are to mature before frost in the fall.

The grapes look good. I don't remember the name of ours, but the grapes are smaller than that and the bunches don't ripen evenly so you have to carefully pick the ripe ones off and leave the green ones. They are tasty though and never make it into the house.

Dorothy, Thanks you. Yes our grapes are not ripening evenly either. I don't how to make them ripen evenly and even size at least in a bunch? I don't know what tricks commercially grower use make them ripe evenly? -Chandra

Chandra, as far as I know, it depends on the variety. Some are like the tomatoes, all ripen at the same time.

My figs have been getting zero water except for scant rain, and are thriving. Tons of little green fruit. My grapes are ripening, and we have just tons and tons...anthracnose is wiping out a many of them (I kept meaning to spray but never got around to it), but about half are still okay and the kids are starting to eat them. :).
