It is Devil's Claw. If y'all leave it there long enough and let the flowers mature, the seed pods will split open and turn brown and look sort of like the heads of giant mosquitoes. It has some medicinal uses but also causes allergic reactions in some people.

I have it growing right outside my garden fence, and one has popped up in the middle of the Butternut squash bed. It is native in Oklahoma, but in my case, I didn't have it until Fred gave me a load of cow manure for the garden about 10 years ago. I've had it ever since. I'll likely leave the plant alone there in the garden, although I have been hacking it back with loping shears when it gets too big and tries to take over the pathway.

If y'all want to remove it, I'd take it out before the seed pods dry and split open and scatter seed. Those green seed pods in your photo will gradually turn tan then brown, then will split open. When they do, the pointed ends are really bad about grabbing onto your shoe, sock or pants' leg and hanging on for dear life.

My daddy grew up poor in Spanish Fort, Texas back in the pre-Dust Bowl and Dust Bowl days and he said they treasured those seed pods as toys and used them to torment one another.
