Do you have multiflora rose around where you live? I have trouble growing roses because years ago multiflora was actually recommended by conservation people as a living fence. My neighbor had a long row of it and the birds spread it everywhere.

Not that I'm aware of. We're in a rural part. Quite a bit of distance between houses. There could be though.

One plant had it last year and I didn't know what it was. It has spread to all of the others in the front of my house now.

I had to remove several roses a couple of years ago because of RRD. The rose forum is a fount of knowledge on the disease. The width and breadth of the knowledge contained on this website sometimes just astounds me.

I have still have roses, without any more trouble so far... but it is just a matter of time. There is still RRD around, I have been watching it on a knockout rose in the neighborhood I walk thru every evening. I have yet to see a homeowner or I would have warned them.

Check the rose forum, they can give you some great advice. I took out the bush, some type of multifora, that i felt was drawing them in ...just upwind of the bush that was infected.

I just had to remove 3 Knock Out roses, with the Rose Rosette Disease, one of which was huge, & just today had to begin removing a climbing rose that I have had for 10 years because it was also infected. The disease is terribly contagious. If it is anywhere in your neighborhood all your roses, not just Knock Outs are at risk. Hoping they find some cure soon. It is like the Bubonic plague of roses!

When we moving into this house last June there was a garden full of them and they had it I removed all the roses.
So sad!

I was at Home Depot yesterday and saw all of the knockouts for sale. That's the big selling point....They require almost no care. That's going to change.
