We all agree...........I simply turned that feature off. Now I don't see them.

Whenever you see a coin, turn it over to see the other side. I don't like the advertising, but I do like the garden forum, and after all, we aren't paying for it.

Disabling them only lasts until the next time I logon.
I used Adblocker in firefox to block them, but I found that this slows down performance noticably, I think it may be time I moved on from GW. It irks me, I had really come to enjoy this site.

Correction, with some tweaking firefox's adblocker works great.
No more embedded ads!

But this reminded me, I hate the new requirement for changing subject headings after one reply post.
Guess I'm in a complaining mood.

There's a lot of discussion about changes to GW on the Suggestion and Comments Forum.

If I am logged in I don't see either the underlined words in messages or the floating ads. In MS Explorer, you can right-click on the underlined words and follow the pop-up menu to disable the feature.

I pay the yearly membership to GW because it was a good thing for several years. Now I will think long and hard about it when renewal time comes up. I'd hate to lose access to the Oklahoma forum, though!
