We got the same amount of rain y'all did over a 2-day period and I think the plants look a tiny bit happier this morning.

Our morning low temp was 75 but it hit 73 at Burneyville just a bit NW of us. It felt nice. By the time I came inside around 9:30 it was only 85 degrees so it is warming up more slowly too.

Last year we had a brief 2 or 3 day respite from the drought about this same time and it was great. After that, unfortunately, we had about 3 or 4 more weeks of awful drought, and then the September rains arrived and put a halt to the extreme heat and dryness. I'm hoping we'll cool down and get rain earlier this year than last.

I just got back from work. Mighty hot out. 100 degrees. Everything looks so parched out, cept the lawns where people with money live. Those are lush green for the most part.

I don't understand the people that water some, and their lawn is somewhat green... if I would water lawn, I would do it to have it green, not just somewhat.

Bill told me to don a sweater today - supposed to be a chilly 95 degrees. :P

I told him I'd believe it when I saw it. It is quite nice this morning.

Bon, I'm like you. I'll believe it when I see it and feel it. Until then, the sweater is staying upstairs in the closet. Our high temperature has been over-achieving and surpassing the predicted highs all summer, and I don't know why it would change now.

We did drop to 73 degrees here early this morning, so it did feel really nice out there when I went out to feed the chickens. The grass still crunches when you walk on it though.

Well, I did not need a sweater but the only thing that could have made this day better is rain. In fact, we have yet to match the anticipated highs with a maximum of only 92 degrees.
