Third place in garden contest.

Small contest or not, it is a national contest. Third place is good enuff fer now. I gots nuthin' to holler about. Especially when you consider that our garden isn't finished.

I can polish my fingernails and pop a couple of buttons over this one.

Warren, congratulations! That is wonderful and you are certainly deserving of bragging rights, finished or not. I've been bragging on you already, I was discussing your yard with my parents a few weeks ago. They're planting an orchard in the front yard of their Duncan home - they own two houses right next door near the high school and have completely planted one with ornamentals (within an inch of its life, really, you cannot see the house at all for the wall-to-wall plant jungle) and now the next door one is undergoing a change to an orchard with a gazebo, grapevines, etc. I was describing where I thought your house was to tell them to drive by and get inspiration!

Sorie, I've used cheap plastic edging from Walmart. approx. $15.00 a 40' roll. I don't recommend it, but if you're on a tight budget it'll do the job well enough. For this type of application, it's too flexible and is subject to expansion and contraction due to temperature changes. I'd recommend stone or brick, if you can afford it and/or re-cycle it from an old building.

Mia, we're on S. 13th across from a Halliburton facility. Which side of the high school is that 'jungle' on, anyway?
