and got about 100 apples. Several have bird pecks so we picked them even though another week would have ripened them a bit more. Still they are wonderfully sweet and crisp. There are 3 or 4 times as many on the Fuji tree and they are sunburning badly as that was the tree that the grasshoppers defoliated so badly. They are nowhere near ripe. Neither are the Black Twigs and that tree is defoliated pretty much too. I do hope they will ripen. I am thinking of picking half of the Fujis and making applesauce with lots of honey and letting the other half stay.
