More squash help please

I am trying to get some of my gardening projects squared away before I have surgery.

First, I have a Brazilian squash that has slid down the trellis and has done some damage to the vine and fruit. The fruit has a crack in it and is oozing sap. Should I harvest this fruit or will it heal itself?? The crack can be seen just behind the bamboo.

Second, I have harvested 5 butternut. They looked like the stems were damaged. When I got in the vines to check them I found I had a heavy population of squash bugs, which I will spray with insecticide. I expect these butternut will still cure out okay????

And last, I ate some wonderful jam/jelly a few weeks ago that has zucchini, pineapple and cherry in it. Do you guys think I can use my immature butternut and Brazilian to make this type jam?

Thanks, Larry
