Is everyone getting rain, or parts of the state?

Pam,

A lot of us are getting rain of one kind or another--some getting a little and some getting a lot. I had mine (a quarter-inch) during the night and today's storms dropped heavier rain (0.70") a few miles west/northwest of me, but then slid west/southwest right past us and into Texas. Can't win them all.

I'll link the OK Mesonet map that shows rainfall since midnight. Some areas had not had rainfall greater than 0.10" on any given day, if any atall, for about 70 days, so this rain is a huge blessing.

In most of the state it will take 9 to 15" of rain to get us back out of drought, and we don't get your hurricanes which could, of course, easily erase the rain deficit with one good 'cane, so the drought recovery likely will be slow and will take months. Still, any time you are in a drought and any moisture falls from the sky, it is a great day! Even just the cooler air temperatures alone are such a huge treat, with or without rain.
